School of Volleyball
School of Volleyball is born from a need. A need to prepare better our young athletes to decide to play at the next level.
It is not our business to tell you to play in college or not, it is not our business to tell you where. It can be a D1 50 best programs or in the lower 300; it can be D2 or D3 or in a local community college. The decision is yours.
But we want to prepare you to be able to choose your college and not have to settle what you do because of a low level of preparation, technique, and understanding of the game. So you don’t have to play in a place you prefer not to go or quit volleyball because you can’t fit in the institution VB program where you chose to continue your education.
Last few years I noticed a lot of players with talent, and/or conditions and/or being physically gifted arrive at the U16-U18 category with very low footwork knowledge, technical inexperience, and very low volleyball IQ.
Some are the best in their High Scholl’s now clashing with the reality of not being recruited and with the only choice of changing their College or quit volleyball.
Some of the young athletes will say: “But I don’t want to be an elite volleyball player” and that’s okay! But at least you don’t have the curiosity to know how far you can go?!
We are here to prepare you to live under high standard principles, like:
Teamwork - Hard work - Commitment - Discipline - Respect
And of course, to teach you:
Volleyball technique & tactic - Physical and Mental preparation.
And for those that will want to only have some fun playing volleyball, I can assure you, “the better you play and the better you understand the game, the more fun you will have”
I want you know how so very loved and treasured you were by Hannah. She has struggled with coaches over the years , and never really felt like she got the coaching she wanted or even deserved - no matter how hard she worked. She had a hard time feeling supported in volleyball, being a short girl, until she worked more with you this past summer.
With you and your team of girls, she felt at home. She adored you, your coaching style, and most importantly the confidence you inspired in her - not to mention the incredible team of athletes you put together this year. I have NEVER seen her more confident than when she was playing with you. It was like she finally saw herself clearly, and it was a beautiful thing.
And, you, Julietta, and Flo were are so incredibly kind to her - and that mattered to her deeply. She appreciated the kindness and warmth you all radiate. And so do I.
Thank you for making my girl a part of your volleyball family. She wanted to finish out her high school career with you, and I am just devastated that doesn’t get to happen.
I just wanted you to know how you’ve touched her life, and therefore mine. We are a volleyball loving family, and I hope to continue to support you from afar. We are working on a scholarship fund in Hannah’s name for volleyball at the very least.
I can’t thank you enough, truly. Take care of those girls. I hope you have a wonderful end of season - I will be following along. ❤️
With love and gratitude,
Adam Morrow (parent of SOV player)
Dardo Olivera's extraordinary understanding and passion for the sport of Volleyball is based on a lifetime of experience. Volleyball is in his blood and how he coaches his players is a pleasure to watch. Having played competitive sports from grade school through college, I can confidently say Dardo Olivera is one of the best coaches I have seen. He has the rare ability to find the strengths of every player, teach them the strategy and skills needed to reach new heights, and combine the individual players into a team with a winning chemistry. I would highly recommend the School of Volleyball to anyone who wants to become a skilled player, push themselves to meet difficult challenges, and be a part of a positive, fun, and inspiring environment.
I hope you and your family are doing well! I just finished my first week of school/volleyball, and I made the Varsity team this year. I am the only one, out of both boys and girls teams, who can effectively do a jump float serve, and I have no doubts at all that I owe it all to you. This time last year, I could just barely serve overhand, and every ball I passed was a shank. The amount of growth I had with your coaching was incredible, and totally noticeable. Thank you so much for all of you help and dedication, because without it, I would not be where I am right now. I hope the school season is going good, and that you and your family are happy and healthy! I miss SOV so much, but I am so excited to see you when I come back!
I wanted to thank youand the School of Volleyball Team for all the amazing training you gave to **** and ****.
First, there were nearly 40 girls that tried out for the Eagle High School Freshman team with only 13 openings and **** made the team! She had her first game this week and she did great, playing all three games as a front row middle hitter (and occasional server).
Second, they already had tryouts for the Girls' Volleyball Club Season that doesn't start until mid November -- and **** made the premier national traveling team for U15. If the pandemic doesn't waylay the tournaments we should be traveling up to Spokane for the Pacific Northwest Qualifier there!! It would be so great to see you! She will be playing with the Idaho Iconic Rebels Volleyball Club. (She tried out for three clubs and was invited to play in all three - but she chose the Iconic Rebels as their coach has a similar style to you.)
And third, after taking as many volleyball training camps as were available this summer (mostly grass volleyball) **** tried out for the boys' club U14 volleyball team and he made it, as well!! Their club season takes place in the Fall so his first tournament is in Salt Lake City this weekend. He is playing for Idaho Strike Boys Volleyball Club.
Truly ... Thank you for your amazing coaching! You did great things for my kiddos.
We miss you all!
First off, I wanted to tell you how much I loved playing volleyball with SOV this summer. I am so grateful for your persistence and optimism you have had throughout this whole COVID-19 experience. You and Florencia are huge role models for me in my volleyball world but also in my life. I’ve learned volleyball from you, but I’ve also learned life lessons from you. You’ve taught me how to work hard but have fun at the same time. SOV is definitely one of the best decisions I have ever made.
Thank you so much for the amazing season! You are such a great coach and I could not even imagine someone who cares more about their players than you. Your perseverance and determination to keep us all playing has been so much appreciated. You have really helped grow my passion for volleyball and taught me so much; not just about the game, but about life. Even though I'm sad about not getting to practice with my whole team at once, I have actually really enjoyed the fewer people in a practice. It not only helped to improve, but also I got to know my teammates more. I loved practicing on that big field outside in the sun. And I even enjoyed the circuit and the setting monster. Even if we are able to meet all together next year, I think it would still be super fun to keep doing this! I'm so looking forward to the next season whenever that will be! I hope to see you in the fall! I'm so grateful this opportunity.
Thank you so much for being such a kind, encouraging, enthusiastic, supporting, and energetic coach. You have really helped me love volleyball. You make us work hard but you make it fun. You are very fun to be around and learn from. I am so sad that this season is over, but can't wait to start a new one.
Thank you for spending your time teaching, encouraging, supporting and guiding me with my hits, serves, passing, setting and even my attitude. You're not just a volleyball coach, but a life coach, and a role model to everyone you teach. Thanks a billion!
Thanks you so much for a great season and all the time and effort you put into coaching us. Thank you.
****** had a blast at volleyball this summer. Thank you so much for making it happen under challenging circumstances. If she didn’t have the physical and social time she would have really struggled this summer.
She’s looking forward to participating in whatever you offer next.
I have learned more than you could know from you. You are more than just a volleyball coach, your advice helps me in everyday life. You have made me realize how much I love volleyball and how bad I want to play past high school. Thank you for pushing me and believe in me all the time... thank you for sharing my successes with me and being light-hearted and funny as well...
